Birthing
Birth of low risk clients in or out of water according to the low risk criteria. (Please refer to criteria)
The Birth home is designed to ensure optimal comfort allowing mum’s to progress with minimal intervention
Antenatal
- Consultations are by appointment only.
- Consultations are every 4 weeks until 28 weeks of the pregnancy.
- Every fortnight between 28 – 37 weeks
- Weekly from 37 weeks to birth.
You will need to see a back up obstetrician twice during your pregnancy, alternatively if you are using a provincial hospital as a back up ( for emergency transfer) you will need to attend your local district clinic twice to ensure that you have a clinic card and required antenatal blood results.
Postnatal
The first postnatal visit will be done before discharge from Birth on 5th.
It is compulsory that you have a follow-up assessment at ‘Birth on 5th’ 3 days after the birth to exclude Neonatal Jaundice, to assess breastfeeding, and ensure overall wellness of both mum and Baby.If you need a home visit, please discuss this with our team.Phototherapy lights for neonatal jaundice can be provided if needed.We provide care for up to 6 weeks and beyond.All pap smears and blood tests can be done onsite.
